The summer movie season has suffered a gut punch with Disclosure Day, one of the dopiest, messiest movies that Steven Spielberg has ever made. He made my all-time-favorite movie, Jaws. But he’s now directed 37 movies (yes, I’m counting his lame kick-the-can segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie), so of course he’s made some clunkers along the way, like Hook, The Terminal, The BFG and a couple of others. Disclosure Day is now the worst movie he’s ever made.

Other movies and TV shows have addressed the whole “I wish more than anything that the person I had a crush on loved me” notion in cutesy, romantic-comedy style. Writer-director Curry Barker takes the premise and goes in the opposite direction by presenting the scenario as a nightmare—and Inde Navarrette is here to act the living shit out of it.
