CLARKSVILLE, TN – Dr. Bobette Bouton, associate professor in the Eriksson College of Education at APSU, published a book titled “Surviving and Changing the Culture of White Patriarchal Higher Education: Personal Essays of Struggle and Hope.” Her first public book talk and signing will be on Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble APSU bookstore. There will be light refreshments, a discussion of the book and time for questions and answers.

Beginning with G. Stanley Hall in the early 1900s, the age and developmental period of young adolescence began to be explored and set apart from other developmental stages of life. From Hall to current time, researchers are still trying to understand this complicated developmental period of life that changes both the physical body and the social and emotional state of being.
