The Krag–Jørgensen was a Norwegian bolt-action repeating rifle that was first fielded by Denmark in 1886. One of the earliest rifles to use smokeless powder, the rifle's chief innovation was the use of a capsule magazine, which was loaded through a side door using loose cartridges.
