Don Brownlee will be retiring as executive director of the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, the primary state agency responsible for regulating and licensing state-owned casinos, sports wagering, and pari-mutuel racing in Kansas. Brownlee's decision to step down from his role as executive director on June 20 was announced at a commission meeting Friday. He has served in that role since 2015, when he was appointed to the position of executive director by former Republican Gov. Sam Brownback.
