The state's highest court has indefinitely suspended a Spencer lawyer’s law license after the Board of Bar Overseers concluded he deceived a client in a business venture. Mark R. Joubert, a member of the state bar since 2002, was indefinitely suspended July 14 by order of the Supreme Judicial Court.

A Fitchburg man has been wanted for arson since June regarding one of three fires authorities allege were intentionally set there in February. Mark Alicea, 39, was indicted by a Worcester County grand jury June 18 on an arson charge in relation to a Feb. 18 blaze at 164 Myrtle Ave. that displaced seven people, injuring one of them. Court records show a judge issued an arrest warrant for Alicea June 18 at the request of District Attorney Joseph D.
