There are nine games in the books — with eight more to go. The Kansas City Chiefs are taking their bye week in Week 10, so it’s a good time to dish out some midseason awards. The Arrowhead Pride writing staff members each had one vote for our seven midseason awards. There are 17 contributors voting, so there will be 17 votes tallied for each award. In this post, we’ll reveal our special teams MVP to this point of the season.

After a heavy couple of days packed with activities as we awaited Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs game against the Miami Dolphins, Brad and I decided to take it easy — especially with the big game looming. Instead of hitting a bar early — something we would typically do when away — we opted for going for a stroll through the city. My step counter had already reached 35,000 in the last two days, so why not add a few more?

After our Day 1 exploits of catching up with old (and new) Chiefs fans, the morning after, I woke up with a raging headache. I think it must have been the whiskey and apricot shots that our table of Chiefs fans were drinking. I still have no idea what this drink was called, but it had a full-sized apricot submerged in some whiskey liquid.
