Chekesha White, founder and executive director of G.I.R.L.S. Club. It wasn’t a job offer or goals of being a CEO that brought Chekesha White to become founder and executive director of the Hampton Roads G.I.R.L.S. Club (Girls Influenced by Righteous Living in All Situations). For her, it was a higher calling to give back to her community. On its website, G.I.R.L.S. Club (GC) is described as a community-based mentorship program for girls in fourth grade through high school.

Angela Teasley at work. Angela Teasley never planned to become an interpreter for American Sign Language (ASL). Through church camps in her youth she learned to sign the alphabet, but that was it. As a young adult, she loved to dance, visiting local area clubs and almost every visit, she saw the same two men who appeared to be signing to each other. Teasley never thought they were actually deaf.

Local to the 757 his entire life, Jack Keller has been providing personal, reliable painting experiences for customers since 2022. Although painting commercial spaces now occupies most of his time, it wasn’t always that way. Keller studied political science and criminology at Virginia Peninsula Community College (then Thomas Nelson Community College) and Old Dominion University, although he says he wished he had studied “something in finance” to prepare him for his life now.
