Media and writing have always been a part of my life. I grew up with a news anchor dad, produced my high school's newsletter, edited and wrote for my college newspaper for 4 years, interned as a PR/marketing assistant, produced 3 award-winning short films, took tutorials on C.S. Lewis and Women's Studies at Oxford University, and graduated with a degree in English writing and electives in digital media and journalism. Oh, and I've also been an adjunct English professor at my alma mater.
I’ve also been blogging for over 10 years (since MySpace!) and using social media since Facebook’s inception. I know WordPress, HTML, CSS, and some PHP. I know what that SEO thing’s all about, as well as how addictive social media can be (Periscope, amiright?).
As for my free time? I volunteer for/attend conventions (mostly geek, tech, or new media), connect with fellow video content creators, and frequent the awesome craft breweries in the Phoenix area with my husband. I blog about online business for entrepreneurial geeks at http://www.geekandprosper.com.
I also enjoy having philosophical discussions with friends, pwning n00bs in video games, and watching movies/TV while I cuddle with our adopted alley cat, Mango. I’m an Anglophile whose heritage happens to be nearly 90% Dutch. I’m not a Cylon. Seriously.
