Forty-five years ago this month, Kraftwerk released Computer World, an album addressed to a world that hadn’t been built yet. Tonight in Belfast, Ralf Hütter and his bandmates open with three songs from it: Numbers, the title track, Computer World 2 – body-popping electro that the next few decades of music tried to live up to. The opening seconds of Numbers catch oddly: a familiar pause stretching too long, then steadied, then not another slip all night.

In Belfast's Kelly's Cellars, a bar that has been bringing the city's people together since 1720, trad music bleeds from somewhere deep within as Ross Cullen and Benedict Goddard arrive mizzle-damp from the street. They settle into a corner alcove and reach for two pints of stout. Together they form the duo Chalk. As Kneecap have exploded out of Belfast, Chalk's longer fuse has been quietly burning alongside them.

‘Thanks for being receptive to my complaining,” Lucinda Williams says late on, deadpan, after a run of songs circling power and consequence. Outside, Storm Chandra keeps the streets jumpy. Inside Belfast's Limelight, a sold-out crowd sits on fold-up seats for a show shifted from Mandela Hall at short notice, the room oddly calm for a venue known for sweat and shoving.
