Grand slam sparks big inning, TAPPS baseball state championship for Plano Prestonwood

PHOTO: Matt Smith By Brian Gosset X – @gosset41 X – @gmsportsmedia1 ARLINGTON – Senior Trent Vilade hit a towering grand slam to right field to cap a huge 9-run second inning and Plano Prestonwood went on to beat Tomball Concordia Lutheran 11-2 during the TAPPS D1 baseball champ game on Tuesday at UT-Arlington’s Allan Saxe Field. The Lions ended a 31-3 season with their 3rd title in program history and first since 2022 when they defeated San Antonio Central Catholic.

JPII (26-9-1) sets up another champ game showdown with San Antonio Antonian Prep on Tuesday.

Colleyville Covenant wins historic first baseball title with rally over Pasadena First Baptist

By Brian Gosset X – @gosset41 X – @gmsportsmedia1 ARLINGTON – Colleyville Covenant capped off a historic baseball season with a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over Pasadena First Baptist in the TAPPS D3 state championship game on Saturday at UT-Arlington’s Clay Gould Ballpark. Covenant (16-10-2) won the first title in program history. The Cougars’ champ game appearance was also a first since the 2002 season.
