Good morning KELOLAND! A hot summer weekend is ahead for the region and the hottest week of the year is ahead. A few isolated t-storms developed early this morning in northeastern SD as shown from our Aberdeen LIVE Cam in the picture below. We also captured some wildlife on our Terry Peak Camera. Take a look in the video below. It wasn’t snow, but piles of hail that covered the road in this video taken between Martin and Mission yesterday. The big story going into the weekend is the heat.

Severe weather possible West River today; Big heatwave ahead Original

Good morning KELOLAND! A very warm afternoon is ahead for much of KELOLAND with scattered thunderstorms likely West River later today. Radar trends have been pretty quiet across KELOLAND this morning. Thunderstorms did fire across the far west yesterday, along with portions of far southeast KELOLAND. Sioux Falls will climb into the low to mid 80s, pretty close to normal for this time of the year. The best chance of thunderstorm development will be western SD.
