US lawmakers press Israel to let cancer patients out of Gaza for treatment

More than 60 members of the United States Congress have called on Israel to lift restrictions on Palestinian cancer patients in Gaza so that they may seek treatment in hospitals in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Fifty-one members of the House of Representatives and 11 members of the Senate signed Thursday’s letter, addressed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. They include Senators Bernie Sanders and Chris Van Hollen and Representatives Madeleine Dean and Greg Casar.

Ali Harb, Brian Osgood Medics had to restrain Palestinian journalist Ali al-Samoudi while tending to his bullet wound when the body of his colleague Shireen Abu Akleh arrived at Ibn Sina hospital in the occupied West Bank. “I managed to look and see Shireen lying next to me. I couldn't believe the situation. I started screaming, and I tried to get to her. They didn't let me,” said al-Samoudi as he recounted to Al Jazeera the events of May 11, 2022.

Poll finds 61 percent of Americans believe attacking Iran was a mistake

Brian Osgood A new poll has found that a large majority of people in the United States believe that the decision to take military action against Iran was a mistake, as the war roils the global economy and fuels cost-of-living concerns in the US. A Washington Post-ABC-Ipsos poll released on Friday shows that 61 percent of respondents believe the use of military force against Iran was a mistake, with just 36 percent saying it was the right decision.
