WEST SACRAMENTO — A walk, three singles and a double by the St. Louis Cardinals was not how the Athletics wanted to start off the top half of the first inning in their first game of an interleague series on Tuesday night. Especially since the A's were without shortstop Jacob Wilson, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left shoulder subluxation. He injured it on the A’s road trip against the Baltimore Orioles when diving for a ground ball.

A’s tell Guardians to put away the broom

WEST SACRAMENTO — Three home runs helped the Athletics bounce back in their final game against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. The contributions were spread across the lineup for the A’s (18-16), who posted a 7-1 win over the Guardians to wrap up a three-game series at Sutter Health Park. Cleveland won the first two games on Saturday and Friday to take the series.

Royals take down A's in extra innings

WEST SACRAMENTO — The Athletics and Kansas City Royals begin their three-game series at Sutter Health Park on Tuesday night. The A's had won back-to-back road series games in Texas and Seattle. On top of that, the A's entered Tuesday's game at 15-13, entering the game in first place in the American League West. The game went extra innings, with the Royals using a three-run homer off the bat of Bobby Wit Jr. in the top of the 10th inning to break a 1-1 score and giving Kansas City a 4-1 win.
