Bridget Shirvell’s Biography

Bridget Shirvell is a Long Island based multimedia journalist reporting on a variety of issues including environmental issues, food, travel, local politics and small businesses.

She has written articles for national magazines and newspapers, including La Cucina Italiana, Condé Nast Traveler’s The Daily Traveler, Rye Patch and Stonington-Mystic Patch, OZOlife, The Green Fork and Hellawella.

She holds a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University, a Master of Science in Journalism from Quinnipiac University‘s McMahon Communications Center and is a recent winner of the Connecticut Agricultural Journalism Award.

When not editing or reporting, Bridget can often be found searching for the perfect cup of coffee, exploring new places through their food markets, and attempting to wrangle her golden retriever into proper behavior.
