3.1. Plasmonic Combinations As the incident electric field interacts with the Au@SiO 2 @Au nanomatryoshka (NM), it will induce a plasmon resonance of the conduction electrons on the surface of the Au components. For the plasmon of a small, spherical NP, this resonance happens predominately in a dipolar fashion []. However, since there are multiple components of this structure, there will be multiple possible plasmon modes.
