Bay Village firefighters voice concerns about city’s $11.4 million fire station renovation

BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – About a dozen Bay Village firefighters and their supporters attended the June 15 City Council meeting, where they called for more input into the design and specifications of the city’s $11.4 million fire station expansion and renovation. Construction began this spring. Among their complaints, firefighters said they want their own fitness room for workouts and doors on private sleeping rooms that are being constructed. The current plans call for curtains instead of doors.

Westlake’s Clague Playhouse announces July 4th weekend schedule celebrating America250

WESTLAKE, Ohio – Clague Playhouse usually closes for the season in mid-June, but the community theater will stay open a little longer this year, announcing historical plays and programs to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding.

Westlake launches patriotic home-decorating contest for America250

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- City officials are inviting residents to show their patriotism by decorating their homes for the nation’s 250th anniversary -- with a chance to win a $100 gift card. Mayor Dennis Clough’s office announced the competition, asking residents to deck out their homes for America250. “We’re excited to see our neighborhoods light up in red, white and blue as we celebrate 250 years of American history,” Clough said.
