ABSTRACT This study examines the desalination of dock water, starting with an initial chloride concentration of approximately 5000 mg/L, using a three-chamber electrodialysis (ED) system. The setup employed cation and anion exchange membranes in equal proportions, separated by graphite electrodes. A direct current power supply with a maximum output of 5 A and 32 V was used to drive the process, during which the initial current of 4 A gradually reduced to 1.28 A over a duration of 180 minutes.

ABSTRACT This study investigates the reclamation of textile dyeing wastewater using a three-cell electrodialysis (ED) system, aiming to reduce the conductivity, total dissolved solids (TDS), sodium absorption ratio (SAR), and to meet water reuse standards. The study is conducted in batch mode using graphite plate electrode and cation as well as anion exchange membrane. The conductivity of the dilute cell has been reduced by 89.18% after 4 hr.

ABSTRACT The deficiency of potable water is a critical concern in numerous areas of India, especially in coastal regions where excessive groundwater extraction has resulted in salinity intrusion. The desalination of brackish water offers a viable method for generating sweet potable water. The present research focuses on designing and fabricating a three-cell electrodialysis (ED) chamber to assess its efficacy in removing chloride ions (Cl⁻).
