Across the lowland floodplains of the Lower Mekong River Basin, the convergence of erratic rainfall patterns and rising temperatures is making traditional rainfed agriculture increasingly difficult. In Cambodia and Lao PDR, this has led to an accelerated deployment of decentralized irrigation — meaning localized, off–the-grid systems such as solar pumps — to secure productivity and build household climate resilience.
