Here is a list of postponed games in the area: South Pointe at Rock Hill was postponed to Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. Lancaster at Indian Land was postponed to Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. This is the second year in a row these two will play on Saturday morning. The game was tied at seven with 1:50 left in the first quarter. Nation Ford at York postponed to Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. The Falcons held a 7-6 lead with 2:43 left in the first quarter. Legion Collegiate hires former NY Mets minor leaguer, Fort Mill HC as baseball coach Original
Legion Collegiate has hired Hamilton Bennett as its new head baseball coach, the school announced in a news release Friday afternoon. The hire comes after second-year head coach Jalen Benjamin died in a traffic accident in Kershaw County on Aug. 10. Bennett has an extensive résumé as an educator, baseball coach and player, which is what drew Legion Collegiate athletic director Mike Drummond to him.

Powerhouse Andrew Jackson plays its season opener this week. The remaining Rock Hill-area teams dropped their Week 0 season openers and are looking to get in the win column this week to avoid starting the season. All games start at 7:30 p.m. Friday unless noted otherwise. The rankings are based on the latest prep media poll released on Tuesday.

Rock Hill High School has the possibility to win a $2 million makeover of its football field thanks to T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights program. The program will award $5,000 to the football programs of 300 randomly-selected high schools, notifying 50 winners every Friday starting on August 23. Rock Hill was in the first batch of winners. Of the 300 schools, 16 finalists will be chosen to receive an additional $25,000, with one grand prize winner receiving the $2 million makeover.
