I am a freelance journalist based in the coal mining town of Hwange in Matabeleland North province in Zimbabwe. I was previous employed by Hwange Colliery Company Limited as a Public Relations Manager from 2005 to 2018.
I am a qualified journalist (majored in Print Journalism) and was previously employed by Chronicle newspapers on fulltime basis where I rose through the ranks to become a Business Editor. Previously I used to write to various local regional papers on freelance basis

In what could be a first in the country’s first division football league, Blackrock Football will soon embark on global positioning system (GPS) technology  meant to analyse and monitor player performance through a specialised tracking equipment. The Hwange based club has placed an order for an undisclosed number these data performance collection devices. The consignment is expected to be delivered before the end of the soccer season.

Hwange’s new imbibing centre with a difference

CLUB Vergas, a newly opened leisure and entertainment place in Hwange has come to the  local residents’ rescue by drilling a borehole meant to service part of a suburb that has in the past faced intermittent water challenges. Situated within Raylton suburb, the imbibing place  opened its doors to the public last Friday amid pomp and fanfare, and was graced by revellers who came as far as Victoria Falls, 100 km away.

Back from a deserved sabbatical

Before delving into this week’s  details,  Yours Truly would like to sincerely apologise for having gone into some form of hibernation without notice much to the chagrin of travelling and touring enthusiasts. However, the sabbatical was rather cut short following an outcry from followers of this column who  accused  Yours Truly of being a “saboteur” of some sort.
