Land-use conversion from Robusta coffee to oil palm in Lampung, Indonesia, reshapes rural livelihoods and ecosystem services. While economic drivers are known, systems-based analysis of their structural interdependencies remains limited. This study addresses this gap using the Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (MICMAC) method. Data were gathered through a mixed-methods approach involving structured surveys of 31 smallholder households and expert focus groups.

El Niño 2026 Drier and Longer

The extreme drought season of El Niño in 2026 is categorized as strong, with a very high probability of 98 percent. The current drought is drier with a longer duration and brings worse impacts, especially in the southern part of the equator. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency predicts the peak of the dry season will occur from July to October 2026. In fact, in some areas, El Niño is expected to last until early 2027.
