Meet Charlie, this week’s Weather Kid! She may only be 5 years old, but she is brave and starting kindergarten this coming fall! She has one younger sister and a pet dog named Bluey after the beloved kid’s show! She is looking forward to seeing her friends more when she starts Kindergarten this fall.

This weekend is going to be on the cloudier side with spotty rain chances at times. Despite this, we are anticipating some sunshine and quieter conditions come Sunday! Today will gradually become mostly cloudy as rain starts to move into the area from the southwest. Showers and thunderstorms will move across northwestern and northcentral Iowa through this morning into this afternoon, eventually making its way into southcentral Minnesota this afternoon and evening.

Isolated to scattered showers with thunderstorms possible at times remain in the forecast through this weekend and early next week. Humidity will continue to linger despite temperatures dropping into the 70s by this weekend, remaining in the 70s through the start of next week. Today will be rather cloudy with morning scattered showers across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. The heaviest of the rain will be along the Minnesota/Iowa border with lighter showers to the north.
