It’s been a while since Kenny Cobble experienced KFOA High School Football Media Day. Cobble served as head coach at Jefferson County, compiling three playoff berths from 2011-15. He returned to the event this year as he enters his first season as the head coach at Maryville. “It’s been a whirlwind, but it’s been great,” Cobble told The Daily Times. “We’ve got such great guys on staff and such great kids.

Tennessee football takes on 2026 SEC Media Day

Tennessee football is less than two weeks from starting fall camp in prep for the 2026 season. Head coach Josh Heupel, running back DeSean Bishop and linebackers Arion Carter and Jeremiah Telander took to Tampa, Florida, for the peak of “talking season” with SEC Media Days. UT enters the 2026 season with a new defensive staff, a new strength coach and a roster that Heupel expects to compete with the best of the SEC. “We’re disappointed in some of the results at the end of last year,” Heupel said.

Heritage football leaning on leadership in prepping for 2026 season

Strong leadership has been a cornerstone for head coach Joe Osovet during his time at Heritage. Entering year five of his tenure in the foothills, the Mountaineers have a lot of production to replace on both the offensive and defensive sides of the football. The intangibles, whether it be accountability or the team’s leadership council, are solidified heading into the season.
