A 26-year-old man who was detained on suspicion of killing former MP and MEP Ann Widdecombe has been freed from custody and is no longer involved in the investigation, Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed. The ex-Conservative prisons minister was discovered dead at her residence in Haytor on Dartmoor on Thursday following severe injuries. Ms Widdecombe, who was 78, subsequently became a Brexit Party MEP and later a Reform UK spokesperson.
