MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont and New York are among 20 states suing the Trump administration over cutting congressionally-approved funding to make solar energy more affordable for low-income households. The Solar for All program was spearheaded by Senator Bernie Sanders and enacted into law by Congress in 2022. The $7 billion program included upwards of $62 million in grant funding for low-income households and communities to build out solar infrastructure.
