Solar-powered resource separator for clean water production, electricity generation and critical resource recovery
Abstract The resource and energy crisis represents one of the most pressing global challenges. In response, we propose an adsorption-coupled solar-powered seawater resource separator (ASP) to simultaneously recover fresh water, lithium and uranium, while generating green electricity.
Active Thermal Field Integration for Marangoni‐Driven Salt Rejection and Water Collection
1 Introduction Clean water scarcity has become a serious global challenge due to the increased environmental pollution and water demand.[1-4] It is estimated that ≈1.8 billion people worldwide will suffer from a freshwater crisis by 2025.[5-7] Although our earth contains ≈70% of water, the majority of them are seawater and undrinkable water.[8-10] Converting a large amount of seawater into potable water through solar steam generation (SSG), where seawater is supplied to the air-water surface...

Bifunctional Smart Textiles with Simultaneous Motion Monitoring and Thermotherapy for Human Joint Injuries
1 Introduction Chronic joint pain has been widely suffered by aged adults with a prevalence of 10-15% in adults over 60 years of age, it is often caused by long-term intense labor, which the primary impairments associated with joint injuries include pain, stiffness, joint instability, joint swelling, and muscle weakness.[1-4] At the same time, joint injury is one of the most common forms of sports injury worldwide.[5] These symptoms often lead to progressive deterioration of a patient's...

Carbon Materials for Hybrid Evaporation-Induced Electricity Generation System
Carbon Materials for Hybrid Evaporation-Induced Electricity Generation System Solar-driven steam generation (SSG) systems for sustainable clean water desalination and purification through photothermal conversion have been widely studied. Integrating solar-driven electricity generation (SEG) including hydroelectricity, saline electricity, moisture electricity, and thermoelectricity during the evaporation process is an effective way to utilize energy comprehensively.
Tree-inspired braiding fibrous framework enabling high-efficiency and salt-rejecting solar evaporation
Tree-inspired braiding fibrous framework enabling high-efficiency and salt-rejecting solar evaporation Duo Xu, Can Ge, Ze Chen, Yingcun Liu, Tao Chen, Chong Gao, Keshuai Liu, Weilin Xu, Qian Zhang and Jian Fang Abstract Abstract Solar steam generation (SSG) in a green way for desalination is a promising application, but reaching a high-efficiency and salt-rejecting SSG is still challenging, especially in hypersaline brine.
Hump‐Inspired Hierarchical Fabric for Personal Thermal Protection and Thermal Comfort Management
Abstract Personal protection is critical for firefighters to ensure their safety in an extreme fire environment. However, conventional firefighter uniforms tend to focus on thermal protection and have the bottleneck of lacking personal thermal management. The heat stress caused by poor thermal management inevitably detriments human body health.

A new practical isobaric interference correction model for in-situ Hf isotopic analysis using laser ablation-multi-collector-ICP-mass spectrometry of zircons with high Yb/Hf ratios
A new practical isobaric interference correction model for in-situ Hf isotopic analysis using laser ablation-multi-collector-ICP-mass spectrometry of zircons with high Yb/Hf ratios Isobaric interference correction is essential for precise in-situ Hf isotopic measurement of zircons, while there is difficulty in doing proper interference correction for zircons with high Yb/Hf ratios.
Tracing Sediment Erosion in the Yangtze River Subaqueous Delta Using Magnetic Methods
We assessed the usefulness of magnetic properties for tracing sediment erosion in a deltaic environment. Surface and core sediments from the Yangtze River subaqueous delta were subjected to magnetic, granulometric, geochemical, and radionuclide analyses. Based on magnetic properties and particle size, the surface sediments can be divided into three groups.
