Morse Ranked in 2023 PitchBook League Tables
We are pleased to announce PitchBook ranked Morse 6th in Most Active Law Firms in VC deals in New England in its 2023 Global Annual League Tables1. This is Morse’s 5th year in the top ten. Morse also ranked 16th in Most Active Law Firms in VC deals in the US, as well as 22nd in Most Active Law Firms in VC deals globally.
Venture Capital Deals 2023
Morse celebrated 30 years of providing outstanding legal services to our clients! In 2023, 51 percent of all venture capital transactions were convertible equity rounds with Morse’s largest transaction being almost $80 million. This past year our VC attorneys represented more company sided transactions. In the last decade, Morse has completed over 600 VC financings, helping our clients raise nearly $7 billion. Merger and Acquisition Deals 2023
In 2023, Morse celebrated 30 years of providing outstanding legal services to our clients! Morse advised a majority of our M&A clients in 2023 on the buy side of the transaction. On average, Morse has completed 17 M&A transactions per year for the last 10 years. Morse represents a wide variety of industries with more being added each year. Our largest industry last year was consulting services. We also saw an increase of deals in the software and e-commerce industry. See also our 2023 VC Deals.

Corporate venture capital – the direct investment of corporate funds into external startup companies – plays an increasingly important role in venture finance, the strategies of emerging technology companies and the startup ecosystem more generally. Published data suggests that the number of corporate venture investors has tripled over the course of the past five years with ¾ of Fortune 100 companies participating in venture capital financing rounds in 2017.
