Double celebration for West Dunbartonshire twins to bring up birthday milestone

It was a double celebration indeed for West Dunbartonshire twins Lena Murphy and Patricia Muir as they recently celebrated the remarkable milestone of their 90th birthdays surrounded by generations of family and friends. The two women – who celebrated their birthdays on April 29 – have spent most of their lives living in West Dunbartonshire, raising their seven children and 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren between them.

Perthshire cops issue derelict building warning after Blairgowrie hotel issues

Police in Blairgowrie have issued another warning to the public regarding derelict buildings in the town following an incident at the Royal Hotel which saw slates thrown from the roof. Officers from the North Perthshire Community Team say they have charged and reported three young people to the Youth Justice Assessor in relation to slates being thrown from the roof of the building – which has been closed since 2020 –on May 3 and 4.

Perth butcher's sausage named Scotland's top banger in coveted national event

A Perth sausage has been crowned the best in Scotland. D. G. Lindsay and Son Butchers have been named the Scottish Beef Links Champion 2026, following a rigorous competition featuring some of the country's finest producers. Delighted owner Beaton Lindsay (56) said he was “overwhelmed” by the honour for his beefy banger that has remained unchanged for generations.
