Reboot fatigue is very real, and Paramount’s fans aren’t shy to share their opinions about it. News broke this week that Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy and A Simple Favor) is actually in early talks to direct a new, still-untitled sequel to 2003’s The Italian Job for Paramount. The new film is not to be confused with the studio’s previous scrapped follow-up called The Brazilian Job. This is something different. But the response is not quite the celebration the studio expected.

Jeremy Piven and Adrian Grenier just reunited for the first time since 2015…and it’s not for an Entourage revival. Instead, the pair star in an advert for Betr, Jake Paul’s betting app. (The ad dropped Wednesday, September 8.) (Variety first broke the story.) The commercial’s plot is taken straight out the Entourage playbook as a fast-talking hustler tracks down a washed-out movie star at a party and pitches him one more payday. It’s safe to say that Doug Ellin was not amused by the similarities.

Michael Mann has quietly recut Miami Vice, and the timing could not be more intriguing. Just as Universal is gearing up to hand over the franchise to a new generation, Mann is sneaking back into the editing bay to take care of some unfinished business.
