It was the second performance hall built in the Tecumseh community.

The Johnson County Central Schools’ Board of Education approved a resolution to increase the Tax Request Authority by up to 6% during its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 10. Being able to increase the Tax Request Authority gives the board the flexibility to budget for the full amount allowed by the State.

For the first time in Johnson County history in the Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest, the poster submitted to the statewide contest, created by Monroe Jones (Sterling Public School), was selected for an Honorable Mention and will be included in the 2027 Severe Weather Awareness Calendar. Monroe holds up her poster, standing next to Johnson and Pawnee County Emergency Manager Megan Buckley, who coordinates the contest at the county level.
