Pharmaceutical residues in aquatic environments are a global concern. The ‘Benign by Design’ concept seeks to reduce pharmaceutical pollution, among others through the development of environmentally less persistent derivatives of active pharmaceutical ingredients on the market.

They can be cited using the author(s), article title, journal title, year of online publication, and DOI. They will be replaced by the final typeset articles, which may therefore contain changes. The DOI will remain the same throughout.
