What does it mean to be a journalist?

Being a journalist means being a willing and active listener. Every single person has a story to tell, and it's our job to listen!

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My victim profiles for The Kansas City Star. It makes me proud to have aided in restructuring breaking news content.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

A coffee shop or any other local business. I love being involved in whatever community I'm covering and interacting with new people!

2023 - Academics

The White House Correspondents' Association Scholarship is awarded annually to a student at the University of Kansas who excels in information management and accessing government databases. Students travel to the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C. for a weekend to learn from the top journalists in the industry. The scholarship is given in conjunction with the White House Correspondents' Association.
