Single-Cell Level Characterization of B Cell Depletion and Repopulation Following Rituximab in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
INTRODUCTION Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by widespread inflammation and tissue damage in multiple organs, including the skin, kidneys, joints, and central nervous system. Dysregulated immune responses, notably aberrant B cell activity producing autoantibodies, drive disease.1 Historically, treatment relied on broad immunosuppressants that often carried significant side effects.

Resolving Conservation Conflicts through Shared Vision, Collective Benefits and Relevant Values
1. Introduction Globally, scientists agree that to reverse the decline in biodiversity and mitigate and adapt to climate change, more land must be protected or managed for conservation purposes [1].
A comprehensive analysis of rheumatoid arthritis B cells reveals the importance of CD11c+ve double-negative-2 B cells as the major synovial plasma cell precursor.
Abstract B cells are key pathogenic drivers of chronic inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). There is limited understanding of the relationship between synovial B cell subsets and pathogenic antibody secreting cells (ASCs). This knowledge is crucial for the development of targeted therapies. Here, we combine flow cytometry of circulating B cells with single-cell RNA and paired repertoire sequencing of over 27,000 synovial B cells from patients with established RA.

Set sail on Chile’s Patagonia Coast to discover glaciers and gastronomic delights
There’s a tale, deeply rooted in Chilean folklore, of star-crossed lovers, born of rival tribes. Of a chief, who in a moment of rash fury had his beautiful daughter, Calafate, turned into a thorny bush. A father who later, deep in remorse, turned Calafate’s lover’s anguished heart into the purple berries that would grow from the flowers that were once the golden eyes of his beloved daughter. I’m in Patagonia, that far-flung, southernmost tip of South America.
Only five Africans are on a new, global list of top 1,000 climate scientists
The Reuters Hot List of “the world’s top climate scientists” is causing a buzz in the climate change community. Reuters ranked these 1,000 scientists based on three criteria: the number of papers published on climate change topics; citations, relative to other papers in the same field; and references by the non-peer reviewed press (for example on social media). The list does not claim that they are the “best” scientists in the world.

Katrina Pizzini of A tavola! Cooking School
Tom Tilbury wants local and organic produce to be a feature for diners at his restaurant. After planting Pizzini Wines’ first vines in the King Valley in 1978 with husband Alfredo (Fred), Katrina Pizzini opened the winery’s A tavola! Cooking School in 2010. Like the winery itself, Katrina celebrates her family’s proud Northern Italian heritage, complementing her traditional pasta and ravioli classes with other cuisines and techniques from around the world.
Opinion: Harnessing the power of the youth towards an inclusive economy - YNaija
“One thing that is clear it that when we provide a platform for youth participation in public life, the positive possibilities are endless. This is due to the energy, innovation, and diversity in thoughts and approach that young people bring to the table.” Following the inauguration of the 8th Senate, it was clear that working to make a better Nigeria would mean shining the light on segments of the population that have yet to be carried along in our national development journey.

Do it yourself - Issue 60 - Magazine
What ties the following five stories together is that at the heart of each of them are entrepreneurs who went against the tide of conformity and followed their instinct to stick their necks out and try something different. At a time when risk-taking is not the normal modus operandum, the examples that follow show that striking out to realise an ambition pays off.
