8 Car Colors That Reflect Your Personality
What Does Your Car Color Say About Your Personality? By Cathy Droz, Founder, HER Certified® I drive a red car. If you know me, that probably doesn’t surprise you. Red is confident. It gets noticed. It has energy. It doesn’t quietly disappear into a parking lot filled with white, black and gray vehicles. And after decades in the automotive industry, hundreds of vehicle reviews and more conversations about cars than I could ever count, I still believe the color we choose says something about us.
The Day I Learned ..What an Empty Room Can Teach You
By Cathy Droz Many years ago, riding the high of launching my first book and hosting a brand-new radio show, I was invited to speak at a travel expo in Phoenix, Arizona. You know the kind—buzzing with booths featuring everything from fifth-wheel trailers to foldable mini-bars for camping. AAA had asked me to talk about the top three cars or trucks for road trips that summer. I was thrilled.
When Customer Experience Comes Back to You I Call It “ReciproCXity”
By: Cathy Droz – Founder- HER Certified I talk about Customer Experience all the time. In automotive retail, dealerships, service departments and businesses of all kinds, we spend countless hours discussing how customers should be welcomed, listened to, respected and appreciated. We send surveys, ask customers to rate us from 1 to 10, watch our Google reviews, celebrate five stars and train employees to say thank you.
Teaching Teens How To Drive… With a Permit !
By Cathy Droz I’ve test-driven over 700 vehicles for manufacturers, from sports cars to family SUVs. I know horsepower, torque, and the latest safety features. But teaching my granddaughter to drive? That’s a whole new test drive, one that doesn’t come with a press kit and 700 different vehicles to adjust to. www.hercertified.com As a grandparent, I want to be one of the trusted adults who helps her learn the road.
DUCK DUCK JEEP - HER CERTIFIED®
By: Cathy Droz When my daughter Julia told me she wanted a white 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, my first response was immediate. “Are you sure? What’s wrong with your SUV?” Her answer came quickly. “Nothing. The kids are getting older, Sofia already drives, and I want something for me that is fun and unexpected. Something where I can take the top off and…” I interrupted her. “And put ducks on your dashboard?” She looked at me completely confused.
Desert Driving Safety: Tire Tips for Rain, Monsoons, and Arizona Roads
When the Desert Finally Gets Rain By: Cathy Droz – www.hercertified.com and Michael Petersen – www.raiseahood.com HER Said (Cathy): If you’ve lived in Arizona, Nevada, or any desert city, you know we treat rain like a long-lost friend. We even have a name for our big dust storms, a “Haboob”. When the monsoon hits and rain mixes with desert dust, it’s dramatic, unpredictable, and always photo worthy.
What New York City Gets Right: Customer Service vs Customer Experience
What restaurants, hotels, street vendors and even New York City police officers reminded me about building trust, loyalty and lasting customer relationships. By Cathy Droz, Founder of HER Certified Whenever I tell people I was born in Queens and raised on Long Island, someone usually attempts a New York accent. Suddenly, “coffee” becomes “caw-fee,” and Long Island becomes “Lawn Guyland.” Others look surprised and say, “I can’t believe you’re from New York.
Here's how well-behaved women make history every day
Pulitzer Prize winner Laurel Thatcher Ulrich once said, “Well-behaved women seldom make history.” We disagree. As co-founders ofThe Women 360, aFacebook Groupand online platform designed to inspire and support female entrepreneurs in Arizona and beyond, our successful group of well-behaved, leading ladies work to make history every day. And that’s why Women’s History Month, which takes place every March, is significant to us.
Her Certified Review: 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend 4x4 - Ride ‘em Bronco
The 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend 4x4 is not your father’s or grandfather’s Bronco. Very similar in style, but Ford adds its special touch and technology to the model. Some of my favorite features include the keyless entry and the wireless phone charger, which are pretty standard these days, but still makes an added fun feature. I love the rubberized cargo area and seating in the back. It makes a difference not only protecting your floors, but also the item(s) placed in the cargo area.

HER Certified Review: 2021 GMC Yukon 4WD AT4
When General Motors suggested I test drive the 2021 Yukon AT4 and drive it to Disneyland, I jumped at the opportunity. After all, I needed to transport seven of us from Phoenix to Los Angeles (372 miles). So, comfort was the number one choice for the adults and entertainment with technology was for the kids. With four adults and three good-sized children (see the video below), we needed a vehicle with three rows of seating and captain’s chairs as the second row.
HER Certified Review: 2021 Cadillac CT4 Premium Luxury
2021 Cadillac CT4 Premium Luxury I’ve always been fascinated with emblems/badges/logos on manufacturers’ cars. As a kid, on long road trips, I would memorize the manufacturers badges and the model. I often wonder if that all led up to my long career in automotive. Either way, I chose to give a little history about the “Cadillac” and enjoy the CT4 review in my video (https://youtu.be/BkmTFBmN4VI).

HER Certified Review: 2021 Toyota Camry Hybrid XSE Sedan
2021 Toyota Camry Hybrid XSE Sedan The week that I was test driving the Toyota Camry Hybrid was one of the busiest event weeks I’ve had in over a year. Thankfully, the events were all in town and short jaunts. That turned out to be perfect, so that I could really test the miles per gallon in the XSE sedan. Year in, year out, even during the SUV rage, the Toyota Camry has been the best-selling passenger car in the United States.
HER Certified Review: 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible
This review will be a little different than most, but test driving the 2020 Corvette was my “Back to the Future” moment — something special to share with my brother. The beautiful “Rapid Blue” Corvette Stingray received more attention than any other vehicle I’ve test driven over the last 10 years. I don’t know if it was because of the media hype, the color or the pandemic blues bringing folks out for some fresh air.
HER Certified Auto Review: 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon 4x4
I love test driving Jeeps. Wranglers to Gladiator Rubicon 4x4’s, it is always fun, plus I’ve owned three Jeep products during my driving lifetime. However, I believe this 2021 Jeep Rubicon Gladiator is meant for some serious rock climbing, off roading, dune loving, snow obsessed, desert dwelling enthusiasts. Since I am a city girl, I decided to drive it to my friend Bill Burford, who is a faithful jeep owner and lives in a rural part of Phoenix.
REVIEW: There is Nothing Odd About the Odyssey - 2021 Honda Odyssey Elite
It is amazing how the term “minivan” has changed from one generation to the next. In 1983 the first minivan flew off the assembly line. The manufacturer was Chrysler, and they introduced the Chrysler Town and Country, Dodge Caravan and Plymouth Voyager. The minivan saved Chrysler from extinction in the 1980s. In 1994 the Honda Odyssey was manufactured and marketed by a Japanese automaker named Honda.
HER Certified Review: 2020 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Coupe - Hold Your Horses
Whenever I have had the opportunity to test drive a Ford Mustang, I find a way to tell everyone around me that my first car was a two-year-old Ford Mustang. In 1970 I purchased a gently used 1968 Mustang that cost me $4,000. I was recently out of high school and starting a job, so I didn’t have $4,000. Fortunately, my parents lent me the money and I paid them off at $80 per week for 50 weeks. It was worth every penny of hard work and savings.

The Alchemical Age of a Woman
When we reach the Alchemical Age of a Woman we’re initiated us into a realm of womanhood we’ve only dreamed about. The seasoned state of maturity when we’re no longer tethered by the ‘shoulds and oughts’ of our earlier years. When being proper can mean behaving just barely. Midlife brings change, be it arrive by choice or by chance.
