100 Year Celebration coming in 2017
In 1858, a report made to Congress described Arizona: “The region is altogether valueless. After entering it, there is nothing to do but leave.” With the addition of Litchfield Park, this idea was challenged. The City of Litchfield Park is a beautiful city within 3.3 square miles, located just 15 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Paul Weeks Litchfield designed this community 100 years ago, with wide boulevards now lined with towering palm trees and beautiful orange trees.
Do You Want to be Happy or Right?
“If you propose to speak, ask yourself, is it true, is it necessary, is it kind.” -Buddha At this time of year, we are invited to a number of get togethers as well as family events. With the variety of interactions increasing it would be normal for conflicts to arise. This realization caused me to pause and think about the goal of many conflicts which is, for many, to win the conflict.
Healthy Holidays
The holiday season is the best of times and can be the worst of times in terms of keeping fit and maintaining a healthy life style. The best includes all the things we want to do: celebration, decoration, gathering with friends and family, and exchanging gifts.
It's time for the Revolution
In honor of H.B. Pete Peters legacy, DTR will be re-sharing his wisdom from previous blog posts. His book “Experience Matters” Business Lessons from the Trenches will be available soon on Amazon. Thank you Pete for your business sense, your humor and most of all your friendship. Whether it is our State House or our Federal Government it is already obvious that the election is going to do nothing to make our lives easier.
Shine On Movement
There is an amazing new movement sweeping the country and everyone is talking about it. At the very core of this stunning new lifestyle is the Shine On! Message. When I first discovered what it was all about I was mesmerized by the energy and the simplicity. The Shine On! Message and movement have created something different and engaging for all ages.
Litchfield Park Cattle
After cotton farming subsided on the Goodyear Farms they went more heavily into scientific grains and started a large cattle operation. Goodyear Farms had no cattle of its own, but one of their more important operations was cattle feeding. The cattle operation was started in 1929 and increased into a big business in the late 40’s and 50’s. Farmers from around the country contracted with Goodyear Farms to take their herds of 100 or so and feed them scientific feed.
I’ll Just do it Tomorrow
I’ll just do it tomorrow Procrastination is something we all do, and we are experts at creating stories around it. The funny thing is the stories we create are universal, and we all have used them at some point in our lives. Here are some of my personal favorites that I still use: I promise, I’ll do it tomorrow, or yes I know I’m working on it. We have a way of making ourselves believe that we never have enough time or it’s not the right time to get things accomplished.
If your heart had a voice, what would it say?
It has been said that the HEART has the power of twelve suns. I know this may sound outlandish to some, but we must think of this in an energetic sense. This statement doesn’t need to be taken at face value, but should be thought of as a form of measurement for understanding the magnitude of the spiritual energy that is contained within the HEART.
3 Quick Fixes to Make Your Blog Stand Out
I’ll be the first to admit that writing does not come naturally or easy for me. But like anything else the more you work at it the better you get. Knowing these 3 simple fixes can help you create an outstanding blog. Blogging is not a perfectly written piece of ligature. It is a thought or topic that gives way to you being an expert or someone that people can trust. The perfect blog size should be at a minimum of 250 words and really no more than about 500.

The Mystery Play
You see, I am not the mind that writes books. Though brilliant, the mind is only thoughts, powerless egoic thoughts, thoughts of judgment, fear and regret, yet also thoughts of mercy, charity and compassion. The mind doesn’t create, only God creates. We are given our minds to negotiate through the relative world of humanness, and the mind serves a useful purpose, but it is not who we are. We are not mind, we are Awareness – that which was never born, and never dies.

Great Sand Dunes National Park
Some of the park’s dunes are as tall as 750 feet, the tallest in North America. The dunes were caused by dried lake and stream beds releasing particles of sand, which the wind then carries to the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos Mountains. The park has one of the most fragile and complex dune systems in the world. Winds of up to 40 mph continually reshape the dunes. There are no snakes or scorpions in the dunes.

ALL THAT IS WOMAN, AND MORE
As a woman progresses through the stages of her life, her many identities—daughter, mother, professional, lover, wife, student, friend—remain as parts of her, making her endlessly complex, with always another layer waiting to be explored. She is a shapeshifter: one woman in many, but many women in one. Never diminished, she is always becoming more. She changes, yet remains the same. She is always complete, yet never. Jean Paul Sarte calls this state the plentitude of absolute being.

Mr. Litchfield was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 26th, 1875. His father was a Mayflower descendent of George Soule and Myles Standish and his mother, from Maine, came from a banking and seafaring background.
Only a Fool Leaps First, then Learns to Fly Later
At the end of a three day mini-retreat at home, Aurora said to her image in the mirror, “Who are you now?” After showering and slathering almond oil on her face, she sleeked her wet hair back with a barrette. By making a ruthless scrutiny of the real woman in the mirror, she knew it was time to offer gratitude for the accumulated assets and to relinquish with grace that which is no longer. Curly locks, her father used to call her, encouraging her natural tomboy exuberance.
