Pushkar Singh Dhami Wins Champawat Bypoll, Retains CM Post
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has won the Champawat bypoll by over 55,000 votes. As per the data of the Election Commission, Dhami received 58,258 votes in total, against just 3,233 votes secured by Congress candidate Nirmala Gahtori. Following his victory, Dhami took to Twitter and thanked the people of Champawat for “showering their love and blessings” in the form of votes. “My heart is very emotional at the time and I have no words,” he said.

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday won the Champawat bypoll by over 54,000 votes to remain as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Dhami was sworn in as the CM of the state in March after the BJP retained power in the assembly election that concluded on 10 March. In the Uttarakhand Assembly polls 2022, Dhami had lost from Khatima seat to the Congress and his win on Champawat was crucial for him to retain the post of Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

8वे चरण की काउंटिंग 8वे चरण तक कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी निर्मला गहतोड़ी को कुल 1575, BJP प्रत्याशी पुष्कर धामी को 29, 939 सभा प्रत्याशी मनोज कुमार को 268, निर्दलीय प्रत्याशी हिमांशु गरकोटी को 246 और नोटा के हिस्से 191 वोट आए. 7वें राउंड की वोटिंग खत्म CM धामी अब तक तकरीबन 23 हजार वोटों से आगे हैं. फिलहाल 7वें राउंड की वोटिंग खत्म हो गई है और निर्मला गहतोड़ी को 1273 वोट मिले हैं वहीं मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी को 25229 वोट मिल चुके हैं.

नई दिल्लीः उत्तराखंड (Uttarakhand) की चंपावत सीट पर हो रहे उपचुनाव (Champawat Bypoll) के लिए मतदान सुबह 7 बजे शुरू हो गया है. इस सीट पर CM धामी के खिलाफ कांग्रेस ने निर्मला गहतोड़ी मैदान में हैं. वहीं, उत्तराखंड के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी के कार्यालय से मिली जानकारी के अनुसार चंपावत में स्वतंत्र और निष्पक्ष मतदान के लिए तैयारियां पहले ही पूरी कर ली गई थी. बता दें कि मतदान सुबह 7 बजे से शाम 5 बजे तक होगा। उपचुनाव का परिणाम 3 जून को आएगा.
