A multi-category eye image dataset for AI-based segmentation and analysis of eyelid disorders
Abstract Abnormal eyelid position and morphology can cause visual dysfunction, ocular surface damage, and facial deformities, highlighting the need for accurate eyelid assessment. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) have enabled automated analysis of eyelid abnormalities using external eye images, but development is limited by the lack of publicly available datasets with multi-category disorders and standardized structural annotations.
Visual cueing and adaptive learning for teaching thyroid eye disease diagnostic assessment to ophthalmology residents
Abstract Background: Thyroid eye disease (TED) diagnosis requires residents to interpret subtle clinical and imaging findings for activity and severity assessment. Guided by Cognitive Load Theory, visual cueing may support attention to diagnostically relevant features, whereas adaptive learning may tailor practice to learner performance. This pilot study compared visual cueing, adaptive learning, and traditional static case review for TED diagnostic training.

Comparison of CTS5 risk model and 21-gene recurrence score assay in large-scale breast cancer population and combination of CTS5 and recurrence score to develop a novel nomogram for prognosis prediction
Abstract Background Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women. Clinical models such as Oncotype DX recurrence score (RS) and Clinical Treatment Score post–5 years (CTS5) model for survival prediction are crucial for clinical practice. However, it remains unclear whether CTS5 or RS would be a more powerful clinical model for recurrence risk evaluation. Therefore, we conducted the present study to compare the performance of CTS5 risk model and RS on different recurrence evaluation.
Breast Cancer Screening in Denmark
Jørgensen and colleagues' study ( 1 ) concluded that mammography screening was not associated with a lower incidence of advanced tumors but increased the incidence of nonadvanced cancer with an incidence rate ratio (IRR) of 1.49 (95% CI, 1.43 to 1.54). However, the methods used to calculate the IRR may undermine the strength of this study. The authors calculated the IRR by using the incidence rate after screening as a numerator and before screening as a denominator.
Diagnostic Accuracy of PIK3CA Mutation Detection by Circulating Free DNA in Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis of Diagnostic Test Accuracy
Mutation of p110 alpha-catalytic subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PIK3CA) has high predictive and prognostic values for breast cancer. Hence, there has been a marked interest in detecting and monitoring PIK3CA genotype with non-invasive technique, such as circulating free DNA (cfDNA). However, the diagnostic accuracy of PIK3CA genotyping by cfDNA is still a problem of controversy.
