The first near telomere-to-telomere genome assembly of Panulirus homarus homarus
Abstract The scalloped spiny lobster (Panulirus homarus homarus) is an economically important decapod crustacean with high aquaculture potential. Several chromosome-level genomes of this species have been reported. But the lobster or even entire shrimps did not have the telomere-to-telomere assembly until now. Therefore, we present the first near telomere-to-telomere genome assembly of P. h. homarus generated by using pure Oxford Nanopore Technologies ultra-long (ONT) reads and Hi-C sequencing.

Publisher Correction: A genetic module boosts grain yield and nitrogen use efficiency by improving nitrate transport in maize
Correction to: Nature Genetics https://doi.org/10.1038/s41588-026-02532-y, published online 13 March 2026. In the version of the article initially published, the y-axis label in Fig. 1b was “log10 P” but should have been “–log10 P”. In Fig. 7a, both “NRT1 OE-3” labels should have read “NCR1 OE-3”. These corrections have been made to the HTML and PDF versions of the article. About this article Zhang, M., Wu, Z., Huang, L. et al.
A genetic module boosts grain yield and nitrogen use efficiency by improving nitrate transport in maize
Abstract Although nitrogen fertilizer use has boosted crop yields, excessive application diminishes crop nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) and causes environmental problems. Therefore, increasing crop NUE is urgently needed for agricultural sustainability. Through a genome-wide association study, we identified a locus, NCR1 (Nitrate Concentration Regulator 1), that correlates with nitrate concentrations in maize root xylem.

A facultative plasminogen-independent thrombolytic enzyme from Sipunculus nudus - Nature Communications
Abstract Current thrombolytic therapies primarily function by converting plasminogen into plasmin, a process dependent on the fibrin–activator complex. This dependence, coupled with the substantial molecular size of plasmin, constrains its effectiveness in degrading D-dimer and restricts its diffusion within thrombi. Here, we introduce a small facultative plasminogen-independent thrombolytic enzyme, snFPITE, isolated from Sipunculus nudus.

Conservation and divergence of regulatory architecture in nitrate-responsive plant gene circuits
Abstract Nitrogen is an essential element for all life processes in plants. As such, plant roots dynamically respond to nitrogen availability below-ground by executing a signaling and transcriptional cascade resulting in altered plant growth, optimized for nutrient uptake. The NIN-LIKE PROTEIN 7 (NLP7) transcription factor senses nitrogen and along with its closely related paralog NLP6, partially coordinates these transcriptional responses.
