Discussion The present study documents several aspects of reproductive biology, with emphasis on spawning and filial cannibalism, and the early ontogeny of orchid dottyback P. fridmani in captivity. These findings build a baseline knowledge on the life cycle of P. fridmani and provide valuable insights for the aquaculture industry to manage and further improve the commercial production of P. fridmani for the marine ornamental fish trade.
