Nonlinear Effects of the Built Environment on Car Ownership The GBDT model can also model the nonlinear effects of various socio-economic attributes and different levels of built-environment attributes on car ownership. shows the non-linear influence curve of household income on car ownership. As shown in Clark et al.’s research [], household income has an impact on residents’ car ownership behavior. It can be seen that the non-linear relationship between the two is significant.
