Charlene Rooke’s Biography

Charlene Rooke is a Vancouver-based drinks journalist, consultant and educator. She is a certified WSET Spirits Educator with Statera Academy and WSET Certified in Wine, an SWE Certified Specialist of Spirits, has completed the Whisky Ambassador Programme and is an artisan distiller, trained at Moonshine University in Louisville, Kentucky. She is the lead judge of the Canadian Artisan Spirits Competition and an expert on B.C. spirits who leads distillery tours and guides spirits tastings in B.C.
A former editor at The Globe and Mail, of Western Living and of Air Canada’s enRoute, she also contributes to publications such as Taste, BCBusiness, Sip Northwest, The Alchemist, Vitis, Montecristo and she is the Drinks Editor for Food & Drink, the in-store magazine of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario.
She is involved with the Canada's 50 Best Bars and 100 Best Restaurants and World's 50 Best Bars initiatives.
