A non-targeted convenience survey consisting of 566 ready-to-eat baby foods was conducted in 2023 to determine the levels of total arsenic, cadmium, total mercury, lead and thallium. Data collection expanded the scope of food categories tested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2021, prioritising foods commonly eaten by babies and young children, while also including selected foods consumed by pregnant women and nursing mothers.

, Charles Barber, Laura Wood, NIST launched a Cannabis Laboratory Quality Assurance Program (CannaQAP) in 2020 to assist laboratories in demonstrating and improving cannabis (hemp and marijuana) measurement comparability and competence. CannaQAP provided tools that allowed analysts and laboratories to assess how their in-house methods perform relative to the community and to an accepted value.

A unit of RM 8210 contains three sample packets (approximately 1.5 g each), each sealed with a desiccant pouch in an aluminized polyester bag.
