Jonatan Vseviov, 44, architect of Estonia’s foreign and defence policies, is the country’s highest-ranking diplomat currently in office. A former ambassador to the United States and now Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he is also the theorist behind the concept of a comprehensive approach to defence and co-author of the national defence strategy.

He came to Paris to take part in the demonstration against political executions in Iran, notably organised by the National Council of Resistance of Iran and scheduled for Saturday 20th June, but the Paris Police Prefecture banned the gathering on the grounds of a "particularly tense national and international context". At 50, Charles Michel, former President of the European Council, no longer holds any political office.
