Tempe teenager Dilan Paredes, who missed his eighth-grade promotion ceremony while in federal immigration custody, finally celebrated his achievement at a special ceremony organized by U.S. Rep. Greg Stanton at a church in Tempe. Dilan and his mother, Margoth Paredes, spent 20 days in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in South Texas after Margoth was accused of being in a vehicle suspected of involvement in alien smuggling.
