Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

My first job as a journalist was contributing short articles and feature pieces for a small local publication. It taught me the basics of deadlines, clarity, and finding the story in everyday events.

How is social media changing news?

Social media has changed news in three major ways. First, it has dramatically accelerated the speed of information, making real-time updates the norm. Second, it has shifted influence toward audiences—people can now shape narratives, amplify voices, and challenge traditional gatekeepers. And third, it has blurred the boundaries between verified journalism and unfiltered content. While this creates more accessibility and diverse viewpoints, it also increases the spread of misinformation and algorithm-driven polarization. The result is a news environment that is faster, more decentralized, and more complex than ever.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Lois Lane from Superman — curious, fearless, and always chasing the truth.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be a journalist means seeking truth, telling stories accurately, and serving the public with integrity — even when it’s difficult.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

#FakeNewsButMakeItFashion — unexpectedly hilarious and perfectly chaotic.

Who do you wish followed you?

I’d love to be followed by people who value thoughtful storytelling, industry insight, and creative ideas — whether they’re journalists, creators, or innovators.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I didn’t work for my high school newspaper, but I’ve always had an interest in writing and communication. I started developing my skills later through personal projects and real-world experience.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The story I’m most proud of is a piece where I explored a real-world issue and presented it in a clear, practical, and helpful way for readers. It reminded me why good storytelling and useful information matter.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Stay curious, verify everything, write with clarity, and always put truth above speed. Journalism is built on integrity — protect it.

When's the best time to pitch you?

I’m most responsive to pitches during weekday mornings. Email is the best way to reach me.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

The best pitch I ever got was short, clear, well-researched, and perfectly aligned with what I actually cover. It respected my time and made the value obvious in seconds.

What's your favorite drink?

Coffee — simple, strong, and always reliable.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
