Abstract Coreoperca whiteheadi is an economically important and ecologically significant freshwater fish distributed across southern China and northern Vietnam, yet genomic resources for this species remain limited. Here, we present a high-quality, chromosome-level genome assembly for C. whiteheadi generated using an integrated sequencing strategy combining PacBio HiFi long-read, MGI short-read, and Hi-C chromatin conformation data.

1 Introduction and Background Imerslund-Gräsbeck syndrome (IGS), also known as selective vitamin B12 (VB12) malabsorption with proteinuria and megaloblastic anemia Type I, was first described by Imerslund and Gräsbeck in 1960 [1]. It is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder characterized by megaloblastic anemia and neurological damage resulting from impaired VB12 absorption, often accompanied by proteinuria, with an incidence of less than 6 cases per 1 million people [2].
