1 Introduction Nickel-based single-crystal (SX) superalloys are widely applied in turbine blades owing to the excellent thermomechanical performance [1-3]. Investment casting is used to produce nickel-based superalloys into SX form [4]. During investment casting and cooling, plastic strain can be induced in the SX superalloys due to the differential thermal contraction of the metal, mold, and core, arising from their differing thermal expansion coefficients [5, 6].
