2. Materials and Methods 2.1. Study Subjects This was a prospective observational study of people with T1D attending diabetes outpatient clinics in secondary care. The study was approved by the Preston Research Ethics Committee (REC 18/NW/0532) and sponsored by the University of Liverpool, UK. Written informed consent was obtained according to the Declaration of Helsinki.
