This year Classical 101 marks the holiday season with a variety of specials and daily local selections from our hosts. Thanksgiving sees the return of some favorites: ”Every Good Thing” and “Giving Thanks” from American Public Media and “Autumn Wonders” from our weekly local series “The American Sound.” We’ll be carrying special music for Hanukkah on December 17th at 4 pm and December 22 at 8 pm.

Published May 8, 2021 at 5:01 PM EDT The Metropolitan Opera / Mary Jo Heath has announced that she will retire as the Met’s radio host at the end of this broadcast season. Heath has spent 15 years at the Met, first as a senior radio producer and then as host. She has enriched Met broadcasts with her deep knowledge of music and broadcasting expertise, while her personal warmth and zest for opera have been hallmarks of every broadcast she has hosted.
