The skirt is a Prada obsession. In Miuccia Prada’s very first autumn collection in 1988, a year after her wedding to Patrizio Bertelli (where she wore a cotton day dress in army grey beneath a camel overcoat), the Italian designer sent around nineteen skirts down the runway (by my counting). Most were cut from a heavy, almost boiled wool, while others appeared in iridescent taffeta.

Look Again at A Letter

It’s late afternoon at Rose Easton Gallery on Cambridge Heath Road in London. Around fifty people have gathered, alongside a handful of drop-ins and standing friends, to see A Letter’s spring runway show. Around the perimeter of the electric white space are grey plastic fold-out chairs, the kind brought out for a child’s birthday party, ready to tilt and stack.

Marley Wendt Has Style

At one point in our conversation, Marley Wendt pauses to ask most incredulously, “Wait, how do you even know me?” her ash-brown hair falling in a soft wave across her face. “Your writing!” I announce, reassuringly. Marley first found her footing at Jeppe Ugelvig’s esoteric fashion magazine Viscose, where she interned before becoming permanent staff following her studies at Central Saint Martins.
